Jealousy: profiles of a fundamental affect
Giovanni Felice-Pace – Counselling Psychologist
Christian Lombardi – Clinical Psychologist
A one-day workshop for counsellors and psychotherapists
Saturday 26th February 2022, 10.00am – 4.00pm
Jealousy is an affect that can be found in the majority of humans. Its manifestations can vary widely both in their display and intensity.
The scope of this workshop is to consider jealousy as a fundamental affect, starting from its relationship and differences with envy, and then focusing on the pivotal distinction between a ‘constitutional jealousy’ and a pathological one. The discussion will encompass perspectives derived from Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Psychoanalysis fields, making references to both literature and Psychiatry.
Case discussions of neurotic and psychotic jealousy will be part of our work as well, as the attendees will be invited to share their own experiences with it. The workshop sets itself to be experiential rather than frontal.
