Attachment

From theory to practice and beyond

A one-day workshop for counsellors and psychotherapists

With Dr. Andrea Oskis

Saturday 8th May 2021, 10.00am – 4.00pm

This workshop will provide an overview of attachment theory, evidence-based measures of attachment (the ‘tools of the attachment trade’), contemporary research findings and clinical applications. The aim will be to make attendees’ current practice more attachment-informed, as well as equipping them with practical skills to integrate into their work.

Dr Andrea Oskis is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Middlesex University, London. Attachment theory provides the foundation for all of her teaching, research and practice. Her PhD was in the field of psychophysiology, looking at how stress links to attachment styles in adolescent development. The applied side of her work is conducted as part of the Centre for Abuse and Trauma Studies, based at Middlesex University, and involves training clinicians in evidence-based measures of attachment and how to use these to enhance different areas of psychological practice. Andrea trained at the Bowlby Centre and is a UKCP-registered attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice in London.
