10 Seminars: An Introduction To The Work Of W.R. Bion

10 Seminars: An Introduction To The Work Of W.R. Bion

An Introduction To The Work Of W.R. Bion
10 Seminars with Simon Good, UKCP, BPC Counts as 15 hours CPD

Cancelled due to covid-19

Psychoanalysis seen through the Bion’s eyes is a radical departure from all conceptualisations which preceded him. We have not the slightest hesitation in saying that he is the deepest thinker within psychoanalysis – and this statement does not exclude Freud. (Symington & Symington, 1996,p. xii)

This series of seminars/discussions will focus on some of the main concepts to be found in Bion’s writings. Bion brought a piercing light into classical analytic theory and technique. He believed that the therapist is in a never ending ‘process of becoming’ authentic. The aim of the seminars is for the therapist to find a personal recognition of the thinking of Bion and apply this to their clinical work. The main focus will be on Bion’s understanding of thinking (Grid) and how with the controversial notion of ‘O’ creates within the therapist an authentic drive towards ‘Truth’ (Grotstein).
